MIKE WHEELER

CHICAGO BLUES … LA BLUES IN THE GARDEN

MIKE WHEELER vine la Blues in the garden festival #8!

21 AUGUST 2027

MIKE WHEELER is coming to Blues in the garden festival #8!
21 AUGUST 2027

There are artists who play Chicago blues. And there are artists who are part of Chicago blues.
Mike Wheeler is one of them.

Born in Chicago, guitarist, singer and songwriter Mike has built his career right in the heart of one of the most important blues scenes in the world. Over the years, he has played and shared the stage with some of the biggest names in blues, including B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Buddy Guy, Willie Kent, and many of the musicians who have shaped — and continue to shape — the story of Chicago blues.

He was a member of Big James & The Chicago Playboys, recording five albums with the band, and since 2001 he has led his own group, the Mike Wheeler Band.

But perhaps the most important thing we want to tell you about Mike is this: For him, Chicago blues isn’t history. It’s the present!

You can still find him on the stages of Chicago’s blues clubs today, night after night, guitar in hand.
In 2026, the Mike Wheeler Band was once again part of the Chicago Blues Festival.

Electric blues. Soul. Groove. A warm voice and a guitar shaped by the school of Chicago’s blues clubs.

Mike has been in the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame since 2014.

And on 21 August 2027, for one night, that road leads all the way to Dărmănești, because his very first audience in Romania will be… the Blues Family in Dărmănești.
