SAM KELLY’S STATION HOUSE

Sam Kelly is a professional musician with more than 40 years in the business. His “Station House” band has been featuring on the UK/Worldwide music scene for many years. In 2020 Sam re-launched the band as a 4-piece featuring Sam Kelly (drums), Richard Sadler (bass), Tony Qunta (guitar/vocals) and Rowena Poole (lead vocals) and this format continues to work at venues and festivals all over Europe/UK. Sam is a legend throughout the international music world. He has been voted into Blues In Britain magazine Gallery of the Greats, as a five-times winner of the ‘UK Drummer of the Year’ award. In 2014 Sam was awarded first place in the “Drummer” category for Blues Matters Writer’s Poll. He has collaborated over 40 years with famous artists such as Gary Moore, Robben Ford, Billy Ocean, Desmond Dekker, Eddie Floyd, Roger Chapman, Ottis Taylor and many others. Sam Kelly’s Station House is a blues-based “groove” band with a unique sound that is influenced by New Orleans second line, soul, jazz and British funk. They are coming to Romania for the first time and will perform at the Dărmănești jazz, blues festival, on August 27, 2022

Sam Kelly este un muzician profesionist cu peste 40 de ani în branșă. Trupa sa „Station House” apare de mulți ani pe scena muzicală din Marea Britanie și din întreaga lume. În 2020, Sam a relansat trupa cu 4 componenți – Sam Kelly (tobe), Richard Sadler (bas), Tony Qunta (chitară / voce) și Rowena Poole (voce principală), iar acest format continuă să funcționeze în locuri și festivaluri în toată Europa / Marea Britanie. Sam este o legendă în toată lumea muzicală internațională. El a fost votat în revista Blues In Britain Gallery of the Greats, în calitate de câștigător de cinci ori al premiului
„Bateristul anului al Regatului Unit”. În 2014, Sam a fost distins cu primul loc la categoria „Drummer” pentru Blues Matters Writer’s Poll. A colaborat de peste 40 de ani cu artiști celebri precum Gary Moore, Robben Ford, Billy Ocean, Desmond Dekker, Eddie Floyd, Roger Chapman, Ottis Taylor și mulți alții. Sam Kelly’s Station House este o trupă „groove” bazată pe blues, cu un sunet unic, influențat de linia a doua din New Orleans, soul, jazz și funk britanic. Aceștia vin pentru prima dată în România și vor concerta la Dărmănești jazz blues festival, pe 27 august 2022
